SPIRITUAL GROWTH

The contemporary fast pace life style has made human life busier than ever. The days fly by and one has just forgotten to connect with one’s own soul. Spiritual growth has taken a back seat in this crazy rat race of materialistic possession. However, to grow spiritually is an important aspect of human life.  It is the process of inner awakening. It’s the rising of one’s consciousness beyond the ordinary to everyday existence and awakening to universal truth. It means going beyond the mind and one’s ego and realizing who you really are.

Spiritualism enhances our ability to deal with life’s challenges and empowers us to bounce back from those difficult experiences. It is easy to judge others and criticize, but when we start to grow spiritually we realize how much healthier it is to cultivate compassion and understanding for others instead.

How to grow spiritually?

  • Practice gratitude. Every day!
  • Meditate and practice yoga. It improves focus, promotes mindfulness, teaches self-control and discipline.
  • Read. It improves mental health and your knowledge base. Person who reads tend to stay calm in all situations.
  • Travel. When one makes a retreat to natural places it helps in slowing down oneself which allows to self-introspect, to meditate and explore the true meaning of life.

Remember spiritual growth doesn’t happen overnight! Spiritual maturity is a gradual process of developing healthy ways of relating one to oneself, others and the environment to feel peace and lasting joy. Spiritual health means purposeful life. It enables us to understand different dimensions and capacities of human beings. It creates a balance between physical, psychological and social aspects of human life. Spiritual people have positive relationships, higher self-esteem and optimistic outlook.
