Bhagwad Gita has always attracted me. Often I had made efforts to understand it. But more effort I try to put in, more I feel to be incompetent to understand it. How can a book be the base of everything and anything and how useless I am that I am not even able to grasp even an iota of it.
I discuss with everyone what is the way to understand Geeta. I have received numerous replies but none of it seem to be useful. But today I have got a reply which made sense. So here it is —
Gita’s basic lesson is — कर्म करो फल की इच्छा मत करो (do your work, don’t desire the fruit).
Think it like this — if you are not thinking about the outcome, you can focus on your goals. This will certainly improve the chances of achieving the goal.
I couldn’t understand what that person was trying to say so, he explained further, “What will happen you are worried about the outcome? Your mind will be distracted! So in a way you will not be able to make coherent efforts towards your goal if you keep worrying about achieving the goals. “
“God can’t just give you the best. If you are not able to achieve, probably you haven’t given your best or your best is just not enough. But to be assured about this, first stop worrying.“
Till now I had never thought about this line of Bhagwat Gita in this manner, although I had heard about it several times. This was completely new way to look at this line, which is the core of all the teachings of Geeta.
So, just have a goal and make continuous effort towards achieving it and stop worrying about it. Because if your efforts are good enough you will achieve your goals and if you haven’t achieved it don’t worry either. Show patience and put more efforts.
