Believe in your own pace!!

In a small town, there is a lady named Simba. Every day, the motivation that a lady has gradually diminished. She feels that she is losing motivation, and she wonders why she is losing motivation.

Eventually, she thinks of starting hobbies she has, thinking that might help. She tries a sketchbook but closes it because she doesn’t know what to draw. She attempts sewing with wool, thinking it might be great to create something, but gives up because she can’t do it.

She tries playing the guitar, but her fingers hurt, so she puts it away. She decides to ask her father to take her to her favorite places, hoping that might spark some interest. However, she doesn’t find satisfaction or motivation in any of these activities.

She realizes that, although she started trying hobbies she saw on Instagram and YouTube, she is not interested in them. She thinks about being happy in her life and recalls her happy childhood. She starts reflecting on what she used to do during that time.

It’s unclear to her what has changed in her life, and she wonders about it. She goes to her parents and asks her mother about it. Her mother says they are the same as they used to be, She goes to her aunt and asks about her childhood. Her aunt says the same thing her mother said. She also asks her friends about it, and they say that they are the same as they were before.
She deeply knows that something has changed in her, but she doesn’t understand what. She starts contemplating this during sleepless nights. There are many days when she is tired but can’t sleep, and she can’t find answers.

She is puzzled and tired, unable to find answers. She continues thinking but can’t get any answers. Finally, she sleeps, and in her dream, she doesn’t know what the hobby is.

At that time(in her childhood), if she feels like doing something during that moment, she should do it. It doesn’t matter if it’s comparable to others. Even during a bus ride brings her joy.

She used to find happiness in small things, even in a little balloon. At that time, the thoughts of others didn’t affect her, cause she didn’t have the thought to listen to them. Then she got the answer in the dream, and she realized that now how she is thinking about her childhood, she did not have thought about adulthood at that time.

She realizes that she doesn’t need to change anything about herself. She acknowledges that it’s okay to be slow and that she doesn’t need to conform to others’ standards. In the end, she understands that it’s okay to be a snail and it’s okay to walk at her own pace.

Alekya's Introduction: Hii! This is Alekya Rekapalli. My hobbies are playing guitar and journalising my thoughts. The thing I love the most is to enjoy the beauty of the nature. My writings are not a collection of total happiness or sadness. Rather, they are my thoughts of feeling insecure about my past mistakes and hoping for a better future. They are about my friends, family and mainly about me.

  1. Reading this made me reflect on my own childhood too. Sometimes we forget that joy really comes from simple moments, not from chasing trends. Thank you for this reminder. Beautifully portrayed this.
