Life is all about learning to live with our fears. Some people have a passion for dancing but hesitate to step on stage due to stage fright. Some have great ideas but abandon them out of fear of judgment. Others lack self-belief because they are afraid of making decisions and facing the consequences. Some people avoid expressing their feelings to prevent hurting others, while others struggle to say “no” simply because they don’t want to disappoint someone.
Fear takes different forms—some fear walking alone, some fear dogs, and others are anxious about the future. It may sound funny because the future is uncertain, yet we still worry. Some people even fear being their true selves, choosing instead to follow the crowd.
But what if we danced on stage just because we love to? What if we pursued our ideas and they turned into something great? What if we believed in ourselves and stopped worrying about others—because, in reality, no one thinks about us as much as we assume? What if the one decision we made turned out to be the best one in our lives? What if we started prioritizing our emotions, even if it meant saying “no” to others? What if we enjoyed walking alone and became friendly with street dogs?
Maybe asking these “what if” questions can help us overcome our fears. In life, we face two choices when making decisions: flight mode or fight mode. We decide which one to choose based on the situation. The same applies to fear—we either live with it or face it.
The choice is yours. Hopefully, this time, you choose to rise above your fears and put yourself first.
