It’s A Whole New World

I was born on 4th Aug 2006 in a place called____. When I opened my eyes the first thing, I saw was my roommate. He was on the bed besides me in the same room. He was also born on that same day as many other babies in various hostels which were addressed as different bhawans. We didn’t know who we were. We went outside our rooms. Our bhawans and met the other newborn and intermingled with them.

Within a few days we came to see few people whom we were told our seniors. That meant they were born before us in that same place. Slowly we got mixed up into this world of ours. We formed our respective groups; they became our family there. We began spending day and night together, started sharing every single moment with each other. It was wonderful. We had our freedom and friends together which was a very amazing combination.

Then some time passed, and we grew up more and new babies were born and we became seniors to them. So, this was our life where our friends meant everything to us. Sometimes there were difficult phases like exams and sessional but that was just a part of growing up in our world.

But one day I came to know that we were temporary residents in this place and that we all belonged from different places and must go there once our term of four-year ends. I was devastated. I had no idea how to live without my friends.

And that day came very quickly, and we all departed to our separate ways into a strange world where we were told we had to lead our own individual lives. That was the day I first heard the word ‘individual’ and came to know its meaning. It was horrible.

I am now in a strange place called home. Each of my friends has their respective homes. I have come to know that we all belonged to our respective homes, and we all use to live here in our past lives before 4th Aug 2006. But everything seems so strange. It’s a whole new world for me. I am trying to adjust in this new environment. I don’t have the habit of eating without my friends; I am used to late night movies and endless nonsense talks which use to keep my brain alive and kicking. I have no one to fight with me over food, no one to love, no one to hate. I am 4yrs old and I have been sent out in this world to live my life without my companions of those past 4 yrs. It will be tough.

People say those 4 yrs were part of our lives but for me it was the beginning of life, and the rest afterwards can be a part of it.

WISHING GOOD LUCK AND HAPPINESS TO ALL MY FRIENDS FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE.
