I love you like a habit
Waking up with lots of stuff to do
with your name on my heart;
you’re in my coffee
Rushing towards work,
bumbling like a baboon with earbuds plugged into my ear;
you’re in my music.
Getting to work,
sitting and moaning and working and complaining, waiting;
you’re in my mind
Time for a break,
I rush hoping to steal some time away from the corporate machine;
you’re in my hopes
Walking back home tardy and lost,
silent in the evening lights hazy;
you’re in my wish
Near comes the next day to repeat the cycle
as I’m in bed for some shut eye;
you’re in my dreams.
I love you like a habit, sometimes like a sickness
Always like a duty but never like a chore
I love you like a delusion waiting to come true…
