All the people for whom
celebration comes with grief and fear.
To all the people who,
feel out of place on their birthdays;
but will make sure,
you don’t on your special day.
To the people who,
celebrate others success;
with so much passion,
but keep theirs understated.
To the people who,
are still trying to heal;
from the grief of losing someone,
the things you did-
and the things you couldn’t,
To the people who,
feel a little out of place,
more than usual-
while celebrating themselves.
You are not alone.
