Just a Smile

I saw those eyes again.
Losing their shine slowly,
To a word that went around,
And a decision to keep it down.

A heart that hoped for all,
Ended up getting nothing,
And endless thoughts of how,
It was never meant to be.

Does the mind know it’s strength?
Or is it high with all the meth?
Would anything really help?
To leave it all beneath.

When did the butterflies become roaches?
Why was the fire calming?
A storm that was so silent?
But why the havoc brought peace.

Silence it they say!
Find a new personality?
How would that turn out
Should there be a mask?
Or
Just a smile is enough?
