Hope…

I am Hope.
I am the driving force of humanity- the one that keeps it alive! I am every breath that a human draws in. I add life to mere existence.

I am Omnipresent. I am the strength of a daily wage earner who looks forward to a better future. I am the ambition of a entrepreneur who aspires to rule the world economy someday. I’m the enthusiasm of a child waking up for school, who longs to be an independent adult. I’m the silent prayer of a grandsire slipping into slumber, with the desire to live just a few more years and watch his grandchild grow into a young lad. I am the dedication of a young aspirant who strives endlessly to ace the Civil Services exam and make her parents proud. I am the fury of the educated but unemployed- who take to the streets to forcefully acquire their rightful share from the evil lot. I prevail in the heart of the commonwealth of a nation when it chooses someone as its Leader.

It is a painful reality that while I thrive in people’s hearts all around the world, a huge part of me is killed constantly. The assassination is not done by the people who live by me. Instead, the persons whom the common public connects me with, cut the ties of hope most ruthlessly. The hopeful daily wage earner spends his entire life in toil and dies a silent death- not because he was a dreamer, but because the society didn’t respect his struggles and deprived him of his rightful share. The grandsire who once had yearned for a long life, now sits in an old- age home praying for death for his “beloved” grand-child abandoned him. The citizens of a nation end up being misled and cheated by political “leaders” time and time again.

The stories of my assassination are endless. And yet, I am alive and happily- striving inside the soul of a young thinker who aspires to bring about a revolution someday because the darkest nights are succeeded by the brightest days.
